Dr. Nonis, is Chairman of the Mackwoods Group of Companies. He qualified in London, with a First Class Honours B.Sc. from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine; obtained his M.B.B.S. from the Royal Free Hospital Medical School, University of London, having spent his electives at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. He carried out his postgraduate training at Royal Brompton, the Hammersmith, and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, and obtained his M.R.C.P. (U.K.). He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, UK, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, London, and a member of the Institute of Directors, London.

 

He is a Director of Sri Lankan Airlines under the Ministry of Ports and Aviation; a Director of Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC; serves on the Grants Board of the ICT agency of Sri Lanka under the Ministry of Science and Technology; the Council of the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon and Vice Chairman of its Services Group; the Advisory Committee on Peace & Reconciliation of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce; the Country Coordinating Mechanism for Sri Lanka of the Global Fund; Vice-President of the Sri Lanka Malaysia Business Council; Sri Lanka-China Business Council; President of the India Life Sciences Institute – Sri Lanka Committee; Board Member of the Ramphal Institute of Commonwealth Policy Studies, UK; and Deputy-Chairman and Trustee of the Royal Commonwealth Society Headquarters in London.

 
Mr. F.L.Fonseka - Director
FCA, FCMA, MBA(Sri J)

Mr. Fonseka is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, and Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of UK, and holds an MBA from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura. Mr.Fonseka is the Joint Managing Director of Mackwoods Ltd., and Managing Director of Mackwoods Plantations (Pvt) Ltd., and functions as a Director of several companies of the Mackwoods Group.

 

He was a Past President of the CIMA, Sri Lanka Division, and was a Member of the Developing Nations Committee of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). He has served on the Urgent Issues Task Force of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka; and is presently a member of the International Development Committee of CIMA Global. He is member of the ACTOS Committee, and serves on the Chamber Committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

 
Mrs. N.S.M.Samaratunga - Director
FCMA

Mrs. Samaratunga is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants ( UK). She is the Co-Chairman & Joint Managing Director of Mackwoods Ltd. She was the first female President of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka and the first female President of Rotary Club of Colombo Central. She was a member of the Export Cluster of the National Council for Government Bodies Economic Development; was a Director of the Tharuna Aruna Institute; and member of the Tertiary & Vocational Education Commission; and Vice-President of BIMSTEC Business Forum.

 

She is the Chairman of the Exporters Association of Sri Lanka; and is President of the Sri Lanka Poland Business Council; President of the Sri Lanka France Business Council; a member of the Sri Lanka-Britain Business Council, and a member of the Chamber Committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

 
Mr. L.L. Samarasinghe

Mr. Samarasinghe is a Director of Mackwoods (Pvt) Ltd., Mackwoods Healthcare (Pvt) Ltd., and Deputy Chairman of Shaw Wallace and Hedges Ltd. He was the former Managing Director of Mackwoods (Pvt) Ltd. He has also held the positions of Chairman of Employers’ Federation of Ceylon, President of the National Chamber of Commerce, Director of Ceylon Oxygen Ltd. and a member of the Coconut Development Authority. Mr Samarasinghe was a member of the Inland Revenue Board of Review.

 
Mrs. S.M.A.Ranaweera - Director
LL.B.(Hons.)(London), Barrister-at-Law (Gray's Inn), Attorney-at-Law

Mrs. Ranaweera graduated from University College London, University of London with an LLB (Hons), and is a Barrister-at-Law from the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn. She is an Attorney-at-Law, and is a Partner of Julius & Creasy, one of the oldest Corporate Law firms in Sri Lanka, founded in 1879. Its areas of concentration include Administrative & Constitutional; Banking & Finance; Capital Markets; Corporate & Commercial; IT, Media & Telecommunications; Infrastructure Projects & Project Finance; Insurance; and intellectual Property. She is a Council Member of the Royal Commonwealth Society,     Sri Lanka.

Mr. L.N. De soysa Pieris
B.Bus(Mktg)(Monash University)

Mr Pieris graduated from Monash University in Australia with a Bachelors degree in Business (marketing). He was previously a member of the Board of Directors of the Road Development Authority and is a Director of Palmers International (Pvt) Ltd.
